A Letter From Aslan

10 Dec 2008

On December 11 2007 I had become an official member of Livewire. I was 14 years old and quite silly at first; I said ‘lol’ (laugh out loud) a lot and was very excited at being a part of it. The first time I went into chat, I met Kiki, one of the chat hosts, and she was very kind and welcoming. I enjoyed chatting with her.

Livewire chat was the first chat room I had ever used and at first I was wary because it was so new, but I was soon relaxed and open with meeting new people and chatting with them. I had made my user name Aslan thinking it was all cool, until I realized just how confusing it was because people mistook me for a boy a lot, but I was quite happy to explain to them that I was really a girl. Anyway, as time went on I met new people – both members and chat hosts. I had, and still have, a lot in common with all of them. Every chat session was a great time of smiles, laughs and friendly chat. I made heaps of friends and got used to the idea of how the website worked. I made my blog, which now I find quite amusing since I sounded so young back then. I replied to forums and blogs and got involved as much as possible while having a lot of fun. As time went on, more people came on and signed up and I introduced myself, spoke to them and welcomed them to Livewire, explaining the works of the site when a fellow member felt lost or confused.

I have to say, now that I’ve been on Livewire for almost a whole year; it is truly the most special website in the world. Ever since I have joined up with them, I have been happier than ever. I have never felt any negative feelings while on LW. It is like my home outside of home, my second family, my happy place. Welcoming and friendly are only a couple of the many wonderful qualities Livewire holds. I believed right from the start that it was the best website ever and couldn’t get any better, but now that LW has been transformed I am quite surprised and am excited to check out all the new stuff.

I do hope that people will support LW and join us because it truly is a great website for adolescents and we all love it. Now, I’m 15 years old and feel like I have been a part of LW for centuries, when really it’s only been one year. Livewire is a place I shall remember and cherish for many years after I must leave. I hope Livewire lives on more so that all adolescents like us can be a part of this family of friends. If I become famous later on in my life, as I have planned and dreamed of doing, I shall support Livewire and donate to them very generously for I don’t think I can ever repay them for the happiness, friendship and joy they have brought into my life on this website.

Thank you to Starlight for thinking up the idea of Livewire, the Livewire team for supporting LW and making it bigger and better and a huge thanks to all of the hosts and members for being such great friends and being yourselves.

Aslan.
