Livewire Wins ATUG Award

16 Mar 2009

Livewire has been named winner of the ATUG 2009 Broadband Award for the Effective Use of Broadband in the Community category. The Australian Telecommunications Users Group (ATUG), a not-for-profit membership-based organisation of Australian telecommunications users, presented the award to Livewire’s Managing Director, Omar Khalifa, at a gala awards evening on March 12 2009.

Up against strong entries from various organisations around Australia, Livewire.org.au was successful in the Effective Use of Broadband category for developing an innovative online community that connects young people with a serious illness or disability with their peers. ATUG said all short-listed entries demonstrate the power of true broadband.
