Two smiling sisters

Program Benefits

Living with a serious illness, chronic health condition or disability has a huge impact on all the family - young people, siblings and parents have their own unique support requirements.  Livewire provides three separate online communities for these family members - a place where they can connect and share experiences with other people who understand what they are going through.

The program outcomes of Livewire are young people, siblings and parents who:

  • Feel less isolated
  • Receive more social support
  • Are more resilient
  • Feel empowered
  • Learn to better overcome anxiety and stress
  • Experience less bullying and predation
  • Are alleviated from boredom
  • Can creatively express themselves
  • Feel an increased sense of belonging to the community
