Mission

Livewire's mission is to connect, support and empower through online communities.

How does Livewire deliver on this mission?

Livewire facilitates connection, empathy and understanding between people who are experiencing similar situations by offering three customised, safe online communities featuring social networking tools and inspiring content:

  • Livewire Members - for young people, aged over 10 and under 21, living with a serious illness, chronic health condition or disability.
  • Livewire Siblings- for young people, aged over 10 and under 21, who have a brother or sister living with a serious illness, chronic health condition or disability.
  • Livewire Parents - for parents and carers of people living with a serious illness, chronic health condition or disability.

The Livewire communities fulfill its mission through:

  • Safety: creating a safe and secure environment.
  • Connection, communication and interaction: reducing isolation by facilitating communication and connection.
  • Expression: providing a place that enables young people to creatively express themselves free from social norms.
  • Support and inspiration: supporting people to participate in the community, learn life skills and gain control of their situation.
  • Entertainment: alleviating boredom and inspiring people by providing entertaining and interactive content.
